Ali Eck, Owner

I grew up in the kitchen. Whether that was helping my mom follow a recipe, learning how to cook with color and flavor from my dad, or helping my Oma cook at our Gasthaus, being around food was a constant in my life.
Couple that with the fact that I am a dual citizen and have been visiting my grandparents for the last 30 years,
and working in their butcher shop, my obsession for food and wine is something I can’t remember not having.
My first job as a hostess in highschool taught me the workings of the front of house. As I got older and turned 18, I found myself serving, and learned the innerworkings of a restaurant. I have always been an outgoing and people loving person, so serving was just another way to meet people and share my love for the items on the menu.

In college I was able to study abroad and spent a summer eating my way around Europe. Instead of electing to go out at nights I was booking myself wine tastings and food experiences! Food and wine were in my DNA and
some may even say it’s in my blood. After being abroad I stayed another month for my annual trip to Austria and worked in our butcher shop.

After I graduated and pursued corporate roles, I found myself grinding for things I did not find passion in anymore. I would still cook at home but the day to day became so hard that joy in cooking was lost. Luckily for me my roots told me that eating meat and cheese for dinner is 100% normal and how I grew up in Austria. Eventually this was my go to contribution when going to friends houses, becoming known as the “board girl”.

Gradually I was encouraged to take what I knew and start a service not available in SWFL, curated charcuterie
boards for purchase. Grazing Haus was born July 2019, and the rest is history. From making boards for friends,
to selling them as a good, the business began growing faster than I had expected by 2022. Before I knew it my
husband and I were looking at rental space, and soon began the build out of our flagship location August 2022.

Now 5 years in, our business continues to offer the same gourmet boards to SWFL and so much more.

Thank you for joining me on this journey!
